New Features

Synchronize controller form
This new feature in the Controller menu, allows an entire controller’s settings to be uploaded or downloaded including flow limits, current limits and programs. Use this feature if you need to replace a panel or re-synchronize a controller.
For DX3 controllers only,

Establishment Programs can be created and executed.
In the Programming form, when a DX3 controller is selected, two additional establishment program tabs (15E and 16E) appear that operate in conjunction with program 15 and 16. The establishment program runs until the end condition is satisfied after which the regular programs start to run.
NOTE: DX3 must have FW revision 3.25.2 or higher to properly utilize this feature.
Useful data from Rain Master manufacturing including firmware version which will be used in future releases of Laguna to allow DX3 controller firmware to be incrementally updated without affecting site irrigation.

Cloud Connect (DX3 Feature Only)

In the Port Settings form, configure a port to use Cloud Connect, create a controller and assign the Cloud Connect port to the controller.
In Central Options, enter the user name and password provided to you by Tech Support.
If you are using Ethernet based Cloud Connect, depending on your organization, you may be required to open the firewall to port 10001.
Similarly, depending on your organization, you may be required to access to the URL laguna.cloudconnect.rainmaster.com.

Port and Controller Setup

Important: If the controller that is being initialized is already defined as a DX3, a different controller type cannot be set i.e. you can't downgrade from a DX3 to a DX2 but you can however upgrade from a DX2 to a DX3 but reverting back to a DX2 is not possible. This restriction is imposed because of the additional features and station count offered in DX3 that don’t exist in DX2. Upgrading is useful for maintaining controller historic data.
Modified Monthly water limit configuration pop up behavior in Controller Setup form. If Monthly Water limit checking is enabled on DX2 controllers, it is important to ensure that limits are correctly entered. If limits aren’t correctly entered, non-irrigation programs may not run as expected.

Pop up will appear just before form closes, allowing you to modify the configuration if required.
The message will now list controllers with invalid configuration when either OK or Apply button is clicked

Modified code to send down Omit by Date as One-time instead of Annual if user selects Holiday mode in Laguna
Update to Port Handling handshakes.
Added ToolTip for Omit by Date to inform users of the need to download omit dates at least once a year to account for holidays that do not occur on a fixed date e.g. Easter Monday.
Get Setup for DX3 controllers upload the firmware version number to Laguna. Needed for Establishment Programs.

Programming and Global Programming

Added Establishment Programs for DX3, see above.
Added Establishment Program special handling for Version Checking, see above.
Changed Programming form to better highlight differences between programs saved at Central and recently uploaded programs. Once programs are uploaded, users have the ability to accept or reject all changes.

Controller Address is groupable and sortable on Programing tab in Global Programming
Fix to UI bug related to disabling the Over Water Limit reaction in Programming Screen
Fix to not set scheduled date and estimated end time values to null in database if there is a communication failure with the DX3 controller

Flow and Current Limits

Display of current is now in 2-digit resolution (10mA) for both DX2 and DX3.
Added Minimum, Maximum and Nominal values to current and flow alarms for DX2 and DX3. This change is helpful in quickly learning about the nature of the problem, however, limits must be sent to the controller after being modified.
Important: The alarm message relies on values that exist at Central and at the controller, typically after limits and nominals have been established or after sending current and flow limits to the controller. This means that for accurate alarm reports, any changes made at Central must also be accurately reflected at the controller otherwise the alarm message text may have misleading values for Minimum, Maximum or Nominal.
For scheduled events, the time can only be scheduled to the nearest minute.
Enhancements and Fixes

Changes to UI for Flow and Current limits to show progress bar correctly and report results of each reading to the screen and Activity Log.
Set colors for grid to neutral instead of red background
Modified window size limits to allow full screen and view more controllers or stations simultaneously
Added option to display % mode or GPM mode in Flow Limits adjustment. This display option can be selected in Central->Options.
Resolved issue with current and flow alarms being added multiple times on hitting Update Controller Alarms
Handle case where communication errors during learn flow causes process to end with failure.
Cope for DX3’s 200 station limit, DX2 has maximum station count of 48.
The estimated learn flow time has been modified. The estimated total time for the learn process is the Flow Check Delay+3 minutes times the number of station participating in the learn flow. The learn process waits for Flow Check Delay time and then takes 3 readings one minute apart for each station.

Alarms

For DX3, modified alarm text flow limit and current limit alarms to show master valves, pumps and stations that are on at the same time.
Sorting Controller Alarms form by date and time.
Tidy up alarms and messages displayed to users.
Alarm form cleanup to display columns more tidily.
Most columns are now fixed size
Fixed alarm descriptions for lower and upper current limits for MV and Pump that were reversed.
Added text in activity log during Alarm Poll to show "on" or 'off" for rain or freeze sensor.
Added limits to wind alarms for DX2 and fixed the text to show rain fall in one-hundredth of an inch
Corrected rain hourly limit text for DX2.

Activity Log

Enhancements and Fixes

Added new Severity type (Alarm) specifically to allow alarms to be displayed more prominently in the Activity Log.
Current display in Activity and Transaction log report now shows only 2-digit resolution.
Improve messages to users and made consistent use of message source for activity log for manual operation.
No functional changes, tidied up messages to use consistent format to include the weather station name.

Manual Operations and Blue Panel

Enhancements and Fixes

Resolved issue with alarms being displayed multiple times while doing a manual activation of station in DX3.
Added exception handling for cases where the Blue Panel is closed before the LCD screen update occurs.

Weather

Enhancements and Fixes

Historic ET values are rounded up to 2-decimal points.
Fixed case where Weather Calendar posted Historic ET instead of ET value at the controller due to not checking if the calendar status was communication error.
Laguna now runs ET setting check each time it runs and improved performance
Fix to rain values being overwritten in Weather Calendar.
For Oasis Weather Stations, retrieved ET and Rain from the correct place in the weather data objects.
Cleanup warning and make sure ET Acquisition does not happen for WC2 that does not have ET micro-climate enabled.
Fixed a bug in creating Weather Station coordinates.
Resolved issue with Oasis Weather station not removing controller from Wind Shutdown
Fixed wind limits (upper and lower limits) were being multiplied by 100.
For Freeze shutdown, only remove freeze condition if freeze is inactive and rain shutdown is not active. When Freeze shutdown is triggered, changed text from "Freeze Shutdown" to "Freeze (Freeze/Rain/Moisture sensor) Shutdown" – for DX2, the rain and freeze shutdown sensors use the same input.
Resolved issue with Satellites not being placed in Shutdown if Restart automatically is not checked

Communications and Service Reliability

Revised the way communication ports are opened and released to avoid deadlocks.
Enhancements and Fixes

Better detection of base radio noise and recovery.
Filter noisy data from the read buffer during the protocol state machine and added trace to discarded byte count.
Transaction log and Activity Log messages report specific controller when errors are detected.
Fixes in ET Acquisition where more than one Weather Center II is using the same communication resource.
Added recovery from transmission failures when attempting to send commands to controllers and weather stations.
When communicating with controllers based on Ethernet or Phone, the algorithm has been changes to avoid hopping between connections i.e. allow all controllers to finish communication on a line before dialing another connections.
Added support for Cloud Connect for DX3 controllers to allow support for GSM and Wi-Fi.

AIM and Advanced ET

Defaulted Percent Adjust in ISC is 100%.
Enhancements and Fixes

Change to ISC form to suppress informational tip when Advanced ET calculates a zero-runtime due to CD being under MAD to reduce clutter.
Added warning in ISC form when Rain Microclimate / ET Microclimate is null for a controller.
Fix to ISC graph representation of Scheduling.
Made minor changes to printing ISC Grid, also added Export button to ISC Form which exports to xls, xlsx, or csv and opens the file in the default program for that file.
Fix for total runtimes in wrong order on Review tab.
Added safety logic for Rain consideration during Advanced ET calculation.
Setting Programming Mode to Conventional when users go from Advanced ET enables or AIM Enabled to both Disabled.
Made Advanced ET Calculate in the situation where Rain Microclimate is null.
Refreshing What-If grid to recalculate using changes from Station grid.
Fix to Scheduled Programs Download not downloading ISCs to controllers that have no modified programs.

DX3 Functionality

Enhancements and Fixes

Reversed auxdata1 and auxdata2 for MV/Pump Upper/Lower current alarms to be in sync with firmware
Resolved issue with Laguna prematurely informing user of completion while activating 2-wire decoder stations.
Resolved issue with alarm count not being updated if a station stops running due to an alarm (e.g. High current alarm for DX3 controller)

Oasis Migration

Fix to migration for Multiple Weather Stations.
When migrating from Oasis to Laguna, sites that contain weather stations did not migrate correctly using the migration utility. The migration program now handles the creating and migration of data. By default, only data after January 1, 2016 is imported into Laguna.

Known Limitations or Issues

For DX3 controllers, the Freeze Shutdown checkbox does not function correctly. Enabling this checkbox may take the controller out of shutdown state following a Weather Poll.
For Cloud Connect, modifying and existing user id or password requires that the PC is rebooted before communications with the DX3 controllers is possible.
Under Controller Setup -> Station Capacity, the station capacity value can only be written to a DX3 satellite one time. If station capacity changes after this value has been written to the controller, the user will have to update this value at the controller manually. Station capacity can always be read from the controller.
